Beirut Fundraiser
Miya Miya Film Club presents: From Beirut.
On Friday 22nd May at @mothership.marrickville, we’ll be screening Ship of Fools (Lebanon, 2024) directed by Alia Haju and Phantom Beirut (Lebanon, 1998) directed by Ghassan Salhab.
This program turns to Beirut, tracing memory, distance, and inheritance in the wake of Israeli invasion. Across both films, the night moves through the city as lived and remembered, holding space for what is carried across time and distance.
There will also be a musical performance by Mohamad Ali Abou Saleh of @baytsaleh, alongside food by our friend Anthony serving fresh manoushe in the courtyard.
Miya Miya Film Club will be donating proceeds to @nationstation__, a Beirut based community kitchen supporting people displaced through ongoing attacks on South Lebanon and Beirut.
Tickets available via the link here.
