The Staging Post

The fifth film in our program is a collaboration with our friends from Welcome Merchant. On Friday 20th June (World Refugee Day) Miya Miya Film Club and Welcome Merchant present: نقطة توقف (The Staging Post, Australia and Indonesia, 2017) directed by Joylon Hoff.

For Miya Miya, this screening and World Refugee Day signifies a day to educate people on the root causes of forced migration – conflict, persecution, and climate change. Our communities are only as strong as our ability to welcome and uplift people, no matter where they come from. It is the bridges we build and not the walls we raise that showcase our strength as a society.
