Featuring a new Miya Miya logo commissioned specifically from Jannah Abdellatif for our second birthday.
Jannah Abdellatif is an Egyptian-Australian graphic designer and illustrator working across Arabic typography, branding, publications and image-making. Her practice moves through cultural memory, language and identity, tracing what is held, carried and translated across places, and how form can hold feeling.
A recent UTS graduate in Visual Communication and Design (Honours), Jannah was named the NSW and Australian Graduate of the Year by the Design Institute of Australia. Her work has been exhibited internationally and was featured by Egyptian Streets. She has also collaborated with Rizo Masr and Cairopolitan.
The new mark adds another piece to Miya Miya’s growing visual identity, made especially for the club and embroidered onto the grey cap for our second birthday.
Stitched personally by Taylor Saito-Patch of Verus, just across the road from Mothership in Marrickville, NSW. Made in a limited run.
